We thought the recession might bring some companies to their knees… but now countries as well – whatever next! Perhaps we shouldn’t ask… currencies?
Boy are we looking forward to the festive break. As we started into 2011 we were ever hopeful that the green shoots of recovery would begin to show but that has just not been the case. Despite that, the crew here at Merson have sailed the ship through troubled waters and the company is in good health. We do hope your business has done likewise.
Our strong trading has been helped by an increase in our key client base and we are pleased to welcome names like John Lewis Partnership, East Midlands Trains, Gatwick Airport Ltd and Southern Railway to our portfolio. We do try hard to listen and develop our business in line with clients’ needs and hope you have seen benefits from this approach.
At Merson we never stand still and in 2011 we started taking steps to internationalise the business and have now established a base in the Middle East in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I am pleased that this new export activity has in no way detracted from our service levels in the core UK market – rather it has allowed us to sustain our full compliment of staff and capability.
So, once again we have our staff to thank. Work has not got any easier in the past 12 months and they have continued to step up to the mark when required. A big thank you also to our customers for the business you have placed with us and we look forward to dealing with you again in the New Year.
