Highly specialised motorway gantry signs are our primary product in the highway signs area, with secondary products including bespoke gateway signs for cities, towns and villages.
Our motorway gantries feature internal illumination which makes the information easier to read and from greater distances than traditional externally-lit or non-lit gantry signs. Recent sustainability driven innovations include a unique method of LED lighting giving excellent output, substantially reduced power consumption and increased service life.
In 2009 Interlink M74 JV appointed us to manufacture and install 21 gantry light boxes with the final installation and commissioning taking place in June 2011. The scope of our work included construction specification and design, fabrication and fit-out, installation and commissioning including transport to site, erection of support structure and testing.
The entire project was delivered on time and on budget, both Transport Scotland and Interlink M74 JV being delighted with the end product.
Gateway signs are a highly effective way of marking the entrance to a village, town or city while providing additional information. This information may include statutory messages such as speed restrictions, local authority identity, historical data and twin town names.
Benefits include an increased sense of identity for residents and a greater sense of place and "arrival" for visitors. The design can be contemporary, as per the North Lanarkshire examples shown, or traditional if this is preferred for aesthetic or conservation reasons.
